Ms. Katelyn Holt was born and raised right here in Mount Pleasant, Texas.
She started playing the trumpet in sixth grade band. During high school, she learned to play bass guitar and joined the high school jazz band.
After graduating from MPHS in 2015, she attended Texas A&M University – Commerce to pursue her degree in music. While there, she was a member of the Pride Marching Band, the trumpet studio, and concert ensembles. She also played bass guitar in the jazz bands at TAMUC.
In August of 2021, she started teaching lessons at the studio on the days that she didn’t have classes. She was also a substitute teacher for MPISD during this time. In December of 2021, she graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Music.
Ms. Holt currently teaches STEM at Vivian Fowler Elementary. After school, she can be found teaching guitar, bass guitar, ukulele, and drum lessons at Mount Pleasant Music Studio.
She also serves on the worship team at Calvary Bible Church. There, she plays whatever instrument the team needs. Whether it’s drums, cajón, bass, or electric guitar, she loves to use her talents to praise the Lord!
In her free time, she is either playing her instruments or listening to music. She also enjoys hiking, playing frisbee, and spending time with her cats.
“Music is a universal language that we are all able to learn. Some might have to work a little harder to become fluent, but when drive meets passion, anything is possible.”
