Mrs. Tina Barron Carter grew up in the New Harmony Community northwest of Tyler. She graduated from John Tyler High School and attended Tyler Jr. College. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in Elementary Music Education. She went on to complete her Master of Education degree from East Texas State University, Majoring in Elementary Education with a minor in Music. She holds lifetime Texas teachers certifications in All Level Music Education and General Education grades 1-8. Tina taught elementary music in the public schools for 34 years and retired in 2017 from Mt. Vernon ISD. She is currently the pianist for First Baptist Church, Daingerfield. Tina has been married to Dennis Carter for 35 years and they have 3 children. Mrs. Tina has taught piano and voice since high school and has been with Mt. Pleasant Music Studio for over 15 years. She currently teaches 30 piano students.
