Mr. David Mills is a professional viola player, based in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. He studied viola with Dr. Jennifer Dalmas at Stephen F. Austin State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Music Performance in Viola. He has taught violin, viola and cello for 10 years and has had students win scholarships and go on to major in music performance. Currently, David is a member of the Longview Symphony Orchestra and the Northeast Texas Symphony Orchestra and has performed as part of the Texarkana Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra of the Pines. David is active in chamber music, playing regularly as part of the Evergreen Strings quartet, in addition to directing the Mount Pleasant Chamber Orchestra. His viola playing has been featured on the alt rock band Pig Pretty’s album Tiny Houses. Aside from strings, David teaches choir for Chapel Hill Independent School District and is Minister of Music for Tennison Memorial Methodist Church. David’s goal in teaching music is to give students a means of self-expression that is desperately needed in this hurting world.
