Mrs. Tina Barron Carter grew up in the New Harmony Community northwest of Tyler. She graduated from John Tyler High School and attended Tyler Jr. College. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in Elementary Music Education. She went on to complete her Master of Education degree from East Texas State University, Majoring in Elementary Education with a minor in Music. She holds lifetime Texas teachers certifications in All Level Music Education and General Education grades 1-8. Tina taught elementary music in the public schools for 34 years and retired in 2017 from Mt. Vernon ISD. Mrs. Tina has taught piano and voice since high school and has been with Mt. Pleasant Music Studio for over 15 years. She enjoys singing with the choir at First Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant.
